Nigeria and Indonesia Strengthen Economic Cooperation at 3rd Nigerian Indonesian Investment and trade Forum NIITF

The 3rd Nigerian-Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum (NIITF) 2024 was held on September 4th at the Mulia Resort in Bali, Indonesia. Held on the sidelines of the Indonesia-Africa Forum, the event gathered business executives and government officials to discuss opportunities for investment and trade between the two countries.
The forum began with a tea break, followed by the recitation of the national anthems of Nigeria and Indonesia.
Mr. Ishmael Balogun, President of the Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), opened the session with a warm welcome to the attendees, setting the stage for a day of strategic dialogues.
Prof. Salawudeen Bin Ahmed, Chairman of Signature Global Real Estate and Standard Trust Insurance, presented on the extensive opportunities in global insurance markets, drawing from his company’s 40-year experience in the sector.
His presentation was followed by a keynote address from Mr. Yomi Benson, CEO of Sahara Energy Singapore PTE Ltd. Mr. Benson discussed Sahara’s growth in the commodities, energy, and renewable sectors, emphasizing the untapped potential of renewable energy for Africa.
One of the event’s key highlights was the presentation by Mr Ricky Rahardja, Chief Marketing Officer of Oxytane International Ltd, who spoke about the company’s leading position in the fuel additive market and expressed their interest in partnering with Nigerian businesses.
The day also featured insightful presentations from Mr. Abdulazeez Salawudeen, Chief Financial Officer of Signature Global Real Estate, on investment in Dubai’s real estate market.
Mr. Felix Ezejiogu, CEO of AfroKana Ltd, who shared his inspiring entrepreneurial journey of building the top African restaurant in Bali.
In addition, Mr. Timothy Simon, CEO of Vutomi Energy (PTY) Ltd from South Africa, highlighted the company’s efforts to address Africa’s energy crisis with solutions like gas-fired plants, solar PV, and hydro power plants.
Following a gourmet lunch prepared by Mulia Resort’s world-class chefs, the forum reconvened for a panel discussion led by NICCI President Mr. Ishmael Balogun.
The panel included leaders from Sahara Energy, Signature Global, Oxytane International, and AfroKana, offering participants a platform to engage directly with industry experts. Several MOUs were signed during the forum, underscoring the strengthening business ties between Nigeria and Indonesia.
The success of the forum was made possible by sponsors, including Sahara Energy Singapore PTE Ltd, Signature Global Real Estate, and Kain Smith & Co. NICCI also extended its gratitude to the Nigerian and Indonesian governments, and the Indonesian embassy in Nigeria, for their continued support in fostering bilateral relations.
The forum marked a significant step in enhancing Nigeria-Indonesia business cooperation, with participants leaving inspired by the new opportunities on the horizon.
