Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu Minister for Foreign Affairs, Nigeria
Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, was born on 5th August 1967.
She is a distinguished Lawyer, diplomat, and public servant. In 1991, she received a Bachelor of Law’s (LL. B) degree from the University of Nigeria. After completing her studies at the Nigerian Law School, Lagos, she was called to the prestigious Nigerian Bar in 1992.
In 2016, she acquired diplomas in Dynamics of Conflict and Cooperation from the University for Peace, Costa Rica, and Human Rights and International Relations from the Berg Institute, Madrid, Spain. In 2008, she obtained a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio, Madrid, Spain.
Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s career spans significantly in both the private and public sectors. From 2011 to 2012, she served as Special Assistant to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on Diaspora Matters. She was later appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain from 2012 to 2015, during which she also represented Nigeria at the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Her diplomatic tenure was marked by strengthening Nigeria’s international relations and promoting tourism diplomacy.
Her political and administrative accomplishments are equally notable. She chaired the Contact Mobilization and Dialogue Committee of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance (2017–2019) and was a member of the National Committee on Economy, Security, and Transition in 2022. She also served as Secretary of the Anambra State Truth, Justice, and Peace Commission, and is currently a member of the Governing Council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University.
She was appointed the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 4th November 2025, a position she holds to date.
Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s scholarly disposition, wealth of experience and dedication to service have positioned her as a consummate lawyer, accomplished diplomat, a flourishing entrepreneur, a great technocrat and astute political leader. She is blessed with three amiable children.
