The President of the Nigerian–Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), Mr Ishmael A. Balogun, has called for stronger trade and investment partnerships between Nigeria and Indonesia, urging businesses in both countries to translate identified opportunities into concrete commercial outcomes.
Mr Balogun made the call on 16 October 2026 during the Business Forum at the 41st Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI 2026), held at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE BSD), Tangerang, Indonesia. He delivered a presentation titled “Bridging Indonesian and Nigerian Businesses: Strengthening Partnership for Trade and Investment.”

In his presentation, the NICCI President highlighted opportunities for collaboration across key sectors, including oil and gas, agriculture, manufacturing, renewable energy, infrastructure, digital services and consumer goods. He emphasised the need for businesses to move beyond discussions and pursue practical outcomes through joint ventures, investment commitments, technology partnerships and sustainable commercial relationships.
Mr Balogun also underscored the importance of reliable market information, targeted business-to-business engagements and effective follow-up mechanisms in addressing market-entry challenges and converting identified opportunities into measurable results.

He reaffirmed NICCI’s commitment to strengthening bilateral economic cooperation and encouraged stakeholders to develop lasting business relationships that support industrial development, create employment opportunities and promote shared prosperity in both countries.

Through its participation in TEI 2026, NICCI continues to advance its role in connecting Nigerian and Indonesian enterprises, facilitating trade and investment opportunities, and promoting mutually beneficial partnerships that contribute to the economic growth of both nations.
