NICCI Honours Former Board Chairman, Ambassador Olufemi Pedro, at Grand Send-Forth Ceremony in Lagos

The Nigerian Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, 28th of May 2026, hosted a prestigious send-forth dinner ceremony at The Delborough Lagos in honour of its former Board Chairman, His Excellency Otunba Olufemi Pedro, following his appointment as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Australia and the Oceanic States.

The memorable event, which took place at the Delborough Lagos, Victoria Island, Lagos, brought together distinguished personalities from government, diplomatic community, public and private sector to celebrate Ambassador Pedro’s remarkable contributions to national development and his impactful leadership within NICCI.

Delivering the welcome remarks, the President of NICCI, Mr. Ishmael Balogun, described Ambassador Pedro as an exceptional statesman, visionary leader, and committed patriot whose tenure significantly strengthened the Chamber’s institutional growth and Nigerian-Indonesian business relations.

According to him, Ambassador Pedro’s leadership helped deepen strategic commercial engagements between both countries while fostering stronger collaboration among members of the Chamber and the wider business community.

The event featured the presence of notable dignitaries, family members, friends, political associates, and business leaders who paid glowing tributes to the former Lagos State Deputy Governor and respected financial expert.

In his remarks, Ambassador Olufemi Pedro expressed heartfelt appreciation to NICCI, friends, colleagues, and family members for the honour accorded to him. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving Nigeria diligently in his new diplomatic role and pledged continued support for initiatives that promote bilateral trade, investment, and international cooperation.

The Chamber also presented appreciation gifts and a commemorative plaque to Ambassador Pedro in recognition of his outstanding service and invaluable contributions during his tenure as Board Chairman of NICCI.

The evening concluded with a toast in his honour delivered by His Wife, The Hon. Justice Jumoke Pedro, The Judge of The High Court followed by networking, photographs, and goodwill interactions among guests.The send-forth ceremony served not only as a celebration of Ambassador Pedro’s achievements but also as a testament to the enduring impact of purposeful leadership, dedicated service, and international business diplomacy.
