In a gesture aimed at bolstering the economic ties between Indonesia and Nigeria, the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria played host to an exclusive dinner at the prestigious Eko Hotels Sky View Lounge. The gathering, attended by a select group of CEOs and dignitaries, served as a platform to cultivate stronger bilateral trade relations and pave the way for future collaboration.

Among the distinguished guests were including but not limited to the CEO of Dufil Foods Irwan Gondosari, a prominent player in the Nigerian food industry, Hendra Sunardi and Didy Supriad, from Wings Group, Yohanne Goenawan and Grenadi Rosanto from Tempo Scan, Marvin Lucky from Kalbe International, Dhanang Riyo of Dexa Medica, Qiswanto Sinaga of Mayora Indah, Roy Putranto from Menjangan Sakti (TBC) and key representatives from the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC). Notable figures such as Mr Ishmael Balogun, President of the Nigerian Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (NICCI), also graced the occasion, underscoring the significance of the event in fostering cross-border partnerships.

The focal point of the evening’s discussions was centred around two pivotal upcoming events: the Indonesian Expo in Kano, scheduled for 27th till 31st of May 2024, and the Nigerian Indonesian Investment and Trade Forum NIITF 2024, slated for June 3rd at Transcrop Hiltons hotel in Abuja. These events are poised to serve as catalysts for increased trade and investment between the two nations.

In his address, the President of the Nigerian Indonesian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Mr Ishmael Balogun, praised the Ambassador for his leadership acumen, which has earned him a lot of respect and admiration. He further addressed the CEOs about the need for investment in several sectors of opportunities in the Nigerian market, urging them to believe in Nigeria as a fertile land for business, growth, and development. Mr. Balogun emphasized that NICCI’s aim is for the mutual benefit of both nations and promised business prosperity if investors are ready to seize the opportunities presented.

Participants engaged in lively conversations, exploring avenues for collaboration and exchange across various sectors. The dinner provided an intimate setting for networking and dialogue, laying the groundwork for fruitful engagements in the days to come.
